Depending on how far you are going and how much time you have, you may be surprised to know that you have some choices in how you travel to your destination.

When traveling to a close destination, most travelers assume that the car is the only way to go, but that is not always the case. Although traveling by car can be economical and cozy keep in mind that there are other options. Consider train service or even a chauffered car. It can be fun to travel by plane even if you're going somewhere you might normally consider driving to. Brief flights can be exciting and fun. Also in some parts os the US you can travel the neaby waterways by boat to make your weekend getaway special. Imagine chartering a boat up the coast to a nearby ocean village. If driving is really your passion, always remember that you can rent a dream car to drive, like a convertible, SUV, or luxury car to make the trip even more special.

When your heading to far away places it may apear as though you have fewer options, but there are alterernatives to flying. Flying may be the fastest way to get there but if you have the time, traveling by train can be a beautifully romantic alternative. Many long distance trains take a day maybe two to get you where you want to go but offer private cabins for you to retreat to while enroute. Driving your own vehicle or renting a car can be wonderful too. Depending where your starting from and heading to, you may find that there is a great deal of beautiful scenery to be viewed along the way. Who knows if you are a "sly by the seat of your pants" kind of traveler, you may find the most romantic place along the way and never arrive at your intended destination! Of course if time is limited and flying in a must, consider flying first or business class. Yes it can be more expensive, but the perks can really get your romantic getaway started on the right foot. Remember, even if you book a coach seat, it never hurts to ask for a free upgrade upon check in. Sometimes you can get lucky!
