Nebraska Weekend Getaways
There are l ots of cows, horses, farms, tractors and corn out here, and although that may not be perfect for a romantic weekend getaway, you can spend sometime in North Platte and Grant; two towns rich in Old West History. Plan to come here for the Cheyenne County Fair and Rodeo in July or Annual Kite Flight in Callaway in September. Stop and spend some time at the Dancing Leaf Earth Lodge and Cultural Learning Center or The Golden Spike Tower & Visitors Center overlooking Bailey Railway Yard, the world's largest classification yard.
This is ground zero for quiet life and simple living. A romantic weekend in Norfolk or South Sioux City, Wayne or Atkinson will likely consist of a porch swing, a good book, and a large piece of beef. Go canoeing on the Missouri River or attend Summerfest in O'Neill in July or Comstock Windmill Festival in June. Stop by the Bluebird Nursery, Trial Gardens and All American Display Gardens or The Ashfall Fossil Beds! The Villiage of Niobrara on the shores of Lewis & Clark Lake is a hidden gem.

If you happen to live in Nebraska, traveling to a small and secluded
place is easy. Lodging rates in small hidden towns like Chadron,
Wayne, McCook or Grand Island can be much less expensive. Many of the
smaller towns in Nebraska offer great little B&B's or cabin
making a quick weekend escape easy and inexpensive. There are always
quaint little shops to explore as well as great home cooking at
local restaurants. Above all, small towns can offer real quiet and

Norfolk, North Platte or Omaha, there are many great deals and weekend
getaway opportunities at your own back door. There are world class resorts in
these great cities that offer tremedous savings during the travel off seasons. Many resorts

Nebraska Weekend Getaway - Jet Away!
Hop a flight to see Snake River Falls or Oregon Trail Wagon Train or attend Fall Festival in Dalton in September
or Comstock Windmill Festival in June. Just because it's a weekend doesn't mean it won't be
memorable. The important thing to remember when considering far
away romantic travel with only a weekend to spare is to find something
specific you especially want to experience while you're there. Consider
checking out some of the great Nebraska events like Annual Greek Festival - Bridgeport in August or Summerfest in O'Neill in July.
A weekend is definitely not enough time to explore all of Nebraska,
but what could be more romantic than hopping a short flight to have
a romantic dinner and see a show on Saturday in Scottsbluff, and then
enjoy brunch Sunday morning and heading home. Maybe a wonderful
Crawford resort offers a great weekend spa package for two, giving
you just enough time to relax, unwind and connect with one another.
The best thing about weekend getaways is they help give us great
ideas for future travel destinations. Imagine when you're coworkers
ask you "So what did you do this weekend?" you can say
"Well, on Saturday I had lunch... in Scottsbluff."
